Privacy Policy

The short version

You do not need to sign up. We never ask for your email or phone number. Nothing about your photos leaves your device until you tick the consent line on the selfie step.

If you agree, each rating sends your selfies and your gender to our server and to OpenAI, which rates your face and writes your tips. We do not keep your photos. We keep your scores, tips and routine until you delete them. Delete my data in the app removes them from your device and from our server.

If you do not agree

Leave the consent switch off on the selfie step, or turn saving off later in the app settings. Then this device rates you on its own and nothing about your photos or ratings is sent to us.

What happens when you rate yourself

You take or pick a front selfie and a side selfie. Your device measures the shape of your face and works out its own scores. If you agreed to saving, the app then sends our server:

• your front and side photos, and the front photo from your last rating so we can compare the two
• your gender, which sets how you are rated and the names of your stats
• the scores your device worked out
• a random ID for the rating and the time it was taken

Our server sends the photos and your gender to OpenAI. OpenAI reads your face and skin and writes your tips. We mix its answer with your device's numbers into one score. Your device's numbers are not sent to OpenAI.

Your photos

We do not store your photos. Our server holds a photo only while it is being rated, then drops it. We keep a hash of each photo, a short code that cannot be turned back into the photo, so the same photo gets the same answer.

OpenAI does not use your photos to train its models. Under its terms for business customers it may keep them for up to 30 days to check for abuse, then deletes them.

Your photos stay on the device that took them, inside the app, until you delete them.

Face data

The scores and stats we store, such as your jawline, cheekbones and skin quality, describe your face. We use them only to show your report, track your progress, and bring back your history if you reinstall the app. We never use them to recognize or identify you, and we never compare your face with anyone else's. We do not sell them or use them for ads. They are kept until you delete them.

Everything we store until you delete it

• For each rating: your score, stats, traits, tips, gender, your device's numbers and the photo hash.
• Your routine: the steps you picked, the days you ticked them, and your streak.
• Your time zone, so streaks count the right days.
• A random ID made for your device, the app version, and the platform. It is not linked to your name or Apple ID.
• The IP address and device type the app last signed in from, kept with the session for security.

Our server also keeps the answer OpenAI gave for a set of photos for up to 30 days, filed under the photo hash, so the same photos are not read twice.

What stays on your device

Your name, birthday, height, weight, the things you are open to trying, your focus areas, your dream face pick and your own guess at your score never leave your device. Neither do your photos.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your email, phone number, contacts, location or advertising ID. There are no ads and no analytics tools in the app. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we never sell your data.

Who we share it with

• OpenAI, only to rate your photos and write your tips, as described above.
• A cloud hosting company that runs our server and database. It stores the data for us and may not use it for anything else.

No one else. We may share data if the law requires it.

Delete my data

Open the app settings and tap Delete my data. It removes every rating, photo, score and routine tick from your device, and your ratings, routine, sign in sessions and the cached OpenAI answers for your photos from our server.

Two things stay. The random device ID stays on your device. Our server keeps a record of when that device ID rated, with no rating data in it, so the daily limit cannot be reset by deleting.

Children

Hotness AI is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you think a child has used the app, delete the data with Delete my data in the app.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update this page and the date at the top.
